Write To AG; We Need A Homeschooled Doll!

Hello Doll-Lovers! Raise a virtual hand if you are/have been/will be homeschooled! Lots of you probably are. Ok, now, raise a virtual hand if you have seen an AG doll who is homeschooled! No hands. There isn't a homeschooled American Girl Doll! The closest we've gotten is Chrissa ''considering'' which isn't really all that close. Every single AG doll has gone to a school. American Girl prides itself on representing girls from all races and walks of life. But us homeschoolers are not represented. We need to remedy this!

I ask anyone who has the time, to take ten minutes and write to AG, asking that they make a doll who is home-educated. We are a community, and we can make a difference! Address your letter to here;

                                                American Girl
                                                P.O. Box 620497,
                                                Middleton, WI 53562-0497

Please remember to be polite and respectful in your letters-AG will probably pay more attention to polite letters than rude ones. I will be writing a letter, and I will post it soon, along with any reply I get.

So, what are you waiting for?? Get writing!

P.S. Today is the last day to send in a picture for my World Doll Day Video Montage!

Let's Talk; What Would Your Dream Custom Doll Look Like?

Hello, my Lovely Readers! I decided to try a new thing I'm calling 'Let's Talk'! Here's the way it works; I ask a question, and you guys answer it in the comments. Then, I will select SOME of the comments to be featured in the next Let's Talk post. Ready? Here we go!

Today's Question is................................................................................................................................

What would your dream custom doll look like, and what would you name her?

My answer; My dream custom would have a Marie-Grace face mold, freckles, and Elizabeth eyes. She would have a wig that was the color of Lea's but the cut would be closer to Grace's. Her meet outfit would be a loose lavender shirt with a lacy white skirt, plus Lea's sandals. I would name her either Anna or Rebekah....I'm not sure yet!

Now that I've answered, it's your turn! I can't wait to see all of your wonderful and creative answers!

We Fought For Quality AG-And We Won!!!

Hello, AG Lovers! I have some AMAZING news! As you all know, American Girl now has sewn-on underwear on TM dolls, Maryellen, and Melody. Many, many people have fought passionately against this, as it's just WEIRD. Like, REALLY weird. Well, our passionate fandom has paid off! AG posted this recently;

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????? NO MORE SEWN ON UNDERWEAR!!!!!!! No more weird boxes, except for Tenney and Gabby! NO MORE OF THOSE SUPRE IRRITATING POACKAGING TECHNIQUES! And for people who have bought a doll with sewn on underwear already, they are swapping the bodies out-FOR FREE!!! I am so happy! I have wanted Melody and/or a TM doll, but haven't gotten one yet-and didn't because of sewn-on underwear. Now I can! I feel like not even all capital bolded italic underlined letters can express how elated I am.

The other thing on my mind is this-will dolls with sewn-on underwear become rare and special? Will that be a collectible EBay thing? I know that that doesn't really matter right now, but it's interesting to think about!

In Conclusion, I am really happy! No more dolls with sewn on underwear, no more weird boxes, no more irritating packaging, and now AG has a little more quality!

Doll Craft; How to Make an AG-sized Fish Tank!

Hi, you guys! I know I asked you which you wanted to see first-the doll's camping trip, or the doll fish tank-and the one vote I got was toward the camping trip, but I was so excited about this craft! It came out SO. SO. SO. CUTE.  Plus, it's been rainy here on the east coast, so I haven't been able to do a lot of outdoor photography. I hope you don't mind!

YOU WILL NEED;

  • A clear plastic toothpick box (mine is diamond brand)
  • Colorful seed beads
  • Mini shells or other decorations
  • A plastic fish (I got mine at dollar tree)
  • Hot glue
  • An empty pot paint container (not shown)

Step 1. Figure out where you want your fish to be. Mine is at the top and a little to the side.

Step 2. Hot glue your fish in place. (Be careful with the hot glue!! I burned myself when I was doing this, and I don't want your fate to be similar!)

Step 3. Next, squirt some hot glue onto the bottom of you 'aquarium' 😉 and place the seed beads on top. Let cool/dry

Step 4. Put some more seed beads on top for a loose, natural look, and hot glue your shells and other decorations in place.

Step 5. Now snap the back onto your fish tank, and Ta-Da! Your doll now has a fish of her very own! Adalyn, with the suggestion of Kit, named the fish Hans Christian Andersen-but because that takes too long to say, the marine life form will go by Andy. ;)

Optional Steps; The container of fish food is a mini pot paint container with it's tabs cut off. I wrote a label and taped it on, and voila! Now Adalyn can feed her underwater friend.

Do you have a pet fish?

                       ''what's that Adi? Um....No...No, Andy does not get a signature.''

A Photoshoot with Adalyn...

Hello, my fellow doll fans! I made Adalyn a new shirt today, and she wore it for a photoshoot. It was my first 'finished-looking' top I've made, with facings, and hemming, and zig-zag stitch finishing. I'm really proud of it! Here are some more pictures;

Cute little Adalyn...(Shh! Don't tell her I said that!!)

I am SO proud of this picture! I love the angle and the clarity of it-I was on a roll with my camera!

A cool fact about Adalyn is that she is actually the same age as me-eleven. But I decided that she is almost nine, because I loved being nine, and she looks younger than my other dolls.

Don't you just LOVE her hair??

And, last but CERTAINLY not least, this is one of the best pictures I have ever taken. Perfect clarity, blurred background, clear focal point. She has the cutest face!! I have fallen in love with her button nose and almond shaped brown eyes. Asian molds, such as the #4 mold, and the Jess mold, don't get enough attention these days-and I don't know why! They are so sweet. I am hoping with the introduction of Z Yang these cuties will get more appreciation!

The Fabulous Fashion Show With Joy and Her Dolls!

Hello, everyone! Today Joy and I have something super special for you! It's a............Fashion Show featuring her dolls as models! But before we get started walking down the runway, I need to introduce you to our models! From left to right, they are; Gemma, Caroline, Samantha, and Kiera.

First off down the runway, we have Samantha! She is modeling a stylish baking outfit.

Her apron has a cute motif of a flower, and polka-dotted ruffles along the top! (She is also holding a very delicious looking cake......mmmmm)

Samantha is wearing pink leggings, and comfy shoes for walking around the kitchen.

Next up is.....Caroline! She is looking very dainty in her black-and-burgundy plaid dropwaist dress, holding a bouquet of flowers.

Caroline also has a plaid purse over her shoulder....It looks so pretty with her blonde curls toppling down her back!

And who's that shyly stepping in wearing red Mary-Janes?

Kiera! In her soft pink tutu and tights, she looks ready to dance! Her soft blond hair is clipped back with a matching barrette, and she has a bouquet of pale pink roses.

And of course, last but not least, Gemma steps onto the runway! She wears a beautiful green dress with a peter-pan collar, buttons, and red flowers on the skirt.

In her hair are multi-colored flowers, and over her shoulders is a stylish vest.

Curtain call! Everyone comes out to bow after their lovely performance!

So, did you like that? I know, I know, Ellie should SO have been in it, but I didn't have her with me at Joy's house. Oh, and which would you rather see first-how to make a doll fish tank, or what happens when the dolls go camping?

The Road Not Taken; A Poetic Photoshoot

The Road Not Taken
                 By Robert Frost

                                            Two Roads diverged in a yellow green wood
                                             And sorry I could not travel both,

                                                I looked down one as far as I could,
                                               To where it bent in the undergrowth

                                                      Then took the other, just as fair
                                                    And having perhaps the better claim,
                                                    For it was grassy and wanted wear,\
                                                    Though, as for that, the passing there
                                                    Had worn them really about the same

                                                    And both that morning equally lay,
                                                    In leaves no step had trodden black.

                                                    Oh, I kept the first for another day,
                                                    Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
                                                    I doubted if I should ever come back.
                                                      I shall be telling this with a sigh,
                                                     Somewhere ages and ages hence;

                                                Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I,
                                                 I took the one less traveled by,
                                                And that has made all the difference.

So what did you guys think?? I was staring into blank space when all of a sudden I had this idea-and I think it came out kind of cool!
